Misio first started as a university project by Madoka Muno. Madoka made a crochet toy spined by armature wire, which translated into other mediums such as; short films, illustrations and photographs.
Misio was then published online (on the former www.MyMisio.com). Various sets of Misios were created in many colors, each of which had a unique name and life story. Those toys were to be explored and to have their own stories created by those who actually lived and interacted with them.
The MISIO website recently added a feature where the parents can upload pictures and describe the stories behind their adopted Misio. This allows parents to share the experience of having a Misio with other people from around the world.
Misio is not just a toy for children to play with or something that lives on a collector's shelf. It is a character, which can give you inspiration to try new things!
The objective of MISIO is to create a global community of Misio parents. It is to encourage people to share their Misio experiences and stories with other people from around the world.
In other words, Misio tries to observe how imaginary characters evolve over time, reflecting human desires, behavior and trends on various cultures.
